The port went in yesterday without a hitch. (My surgeon is fast and fabulous!!) I’m bandaged up nicely and oh-so-tender, but all things considered, it’s really no big deal. I think the big deal is the “no shower until Saturday” part. (*plugging nose*) Yuck. 😉 I did try to bribe the nurses for some Versed for home use – but that was a no-go and a half. I think they thought I was kidding. 😉 I’ll try harder next time.
At my Oncology appointment this morning I received the results from my Echocardiogram, CT Scans (chest, abdomen, and pelvis), and full-body bone scan. And the fantastic news is – – – there’s no sign of cancer in my vital organs and bones! Whew!!!!! What a relief!!!
So – it’s confirmed – the cancer is limited to the three tumors in my breast and my axillary lymph nodes. I can certainly live without boobies and armpits. Don’tcha think??? I still have to do 20 weeks of chemo and 24 weeks of radiation, with
My next appointment with the Oncologist is this coming Tuesday, and it’s a ‘teaching’ appointment. My family and I will learn everything there is to know about the chemotherapy treatments…the medicines that will be used, how I’ll receive them, what to expect physically, etc. I feel very anxious to get it started, so I can be closer to done!!! But wait, I am getting a bit kerried-away. I’ve gotta remember – – slow and steady wins the race.
